Does e.l.f. makeup contain the regular toxic chemicals as do mainstream cosmetic companies?

You'd never know. Cosmetic companies are not obligated to list every single ingredient on their packaging because they'r enot FDA approved.Does e.l.f. makeup contain the regular toxic chemicals as do mainstream cosmetic companies?
I agree that cosmetics are completely unregulated by the FDA( just google/READ about makeup %26amp; FDA guidelines about lack of regulation). Logically looking at this, ELF is able to sell its product at such low $.. it's probable that there are toxins in it as well but by what dosage? we don't know yet! Report Abuse
Does e.l.f. makeup contain the regular toxic chemicals as do mainstream cosmetic companies?
Some Decent brands I recommend for makeup: Aveda, Dr Hauschka, Martin Gebhardt Skin = Organic cosmetic line... i suggest to read about each line's product %26amp; their organic statements before purchasing it but I personally like Dr Hauschka. Report Abuse

I'm assuming they do because those ingredients are cheaper and that's why they can only charge $1.00 for their products. Although, I do know they don't test their products on animals.
I'm not really sure about the chemicals in ELF makeup, though I'm 99% sure they are not organic so they have at least some chemicals in there. But I do know they do not test on animals.
Unfortunately it appears that they do. It is so frustrating that these toxins are included in make up. We know things get absorbed through the skin, or we wouldn't have the nicotine patch, or birth control patch. Why put that in make up? If you find a good make up free of this, let me know.

Which is the best mineral makeup and is there any company who will send you free samples?

Bare MInerals. I LOVE it. I can't stand to wear makeup and have tried a lot of products and this product I am happy with. I would definitely recommend it.Which is the best mineral makeup and is there any company who will send you free samples?
Bare Minerals!! I love it. I been using it for 2 years and Im happy with it. Its great for my skin since I have breakouts here and there. The coverage is awesome. I purchase my makeup from a Ulta store because I tried it there( I did a make over for prom and graduation with that makeup). Finally got the makeup after grad for one of my gifts =) . If you have one near you, go in and talk to one of the associates and see if they will help find your color that matches and ask if they can apply the foundation on you. Then if your interested buy the kit thats $60. If you feel its not right for you just return it. I dont think you will be disappointed though. Once after you have it on and put on your mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick or gloss for the finish touch. youll look greatWhich is the best mineral makeup and is there any company who will send you free samples?
I love Jane Iredale. I just recently purchase Bare Essentuals but I'm disappointed with it. Bare Essentuals doesn't cover as well as Jane Iredale. Good luck. 2D
Mineral makeup is best, it's very natural, has awesome wear-ability, is non-cosmogenic, and is oil free, but please think twice before using Bare Minerals (aka Bare Escentuals) OR Sheer Cover! These products contain bismuth which is NOT a healthy mineral and NOT at all recommended for sensitive skin, it can aggrivate skin promlems further! It resembles arsenic!!! I used this makeup not knowing this fact and it caused me a very bad allergic reaction including intense itch, large blotchy patches of redness, and break outs! After that i looked into LAMinerals but didn't go with them since they put silk powder (killing the animals that make the silk) and other weird ingredients like magnesium, and calcium into their makeup... Common sense told me the more ingredients, the higher the risk of blocked pores, break outs, and allergic reactions...

I then found this makeup and have been using it for 2 years now! It's wonderful! They have 17 foundation colors (way more then the competitors!) and 5 different finishing powders, choose the one for you skin type! Plus they have over 45 eye shadows! It really works well! Plus they are also MUCH cheaper then the 'big' name companies, and they're cruelty free and totally VEGAN (animal by-product free)!

They offer free shipping to the Continental US!

I just bought Bare Escentuals and i love it!! I used to keep my make up to strictly eye make up, because i have pretty good skin, and i don't like how make up feels on my skin, but i just recently bought Bare minerals and i love it. It doesn't feel like im wearing a mask of make up and it looks really natural. Plus if i have a long night, and go straight to bed with out taking it off, my skin is fine the next day. They sell a starter kit for like $60 and you get two shades of foundation, all the brushes you need, a primer, all over warmth, and a mineral veil to apply to your make up when your done. You should check it out, i love it.
Bare minerals and sheer cover have bismuth oxychloride in them. It caused me to itch like mad. So I sought mineral makeup without it. I got samples from LAminerals for like $1 each and they shipped em free. Probly if you find some free samples they will charge you out the whazoo for shipping!

If you could invent a new type of Makeup company (CoverGirl, etc.) what's the name and slogan, and why :)?

NaturalGirl (The natural look for less). Because sooooooo many guys like the natural look, more than the ones that want their girls to look like Apache War Chiefs.

    heartbreaker:) cause boys would cry
I would name it 'Shy' (don't ask) and the slogan would be ';Don't Be';.

And I'd have someone unknown represent it.
I'd want mine to be something like Glitter Up, or Shimmer Down. Maybe the slogan would be something like Sparkle Inside. I'd want Caridee form America's Next Top Model.

I'm a vegan but got offered a job with a makeup company that tests on animals but I've been unemployed....

for 4 months. I'm taking college courses and its hard to find a job that wants to work around my schedule.

But I don't know what to do! I don't want to work for a company that tests on animals but I've been unemployed for so long!!!

:(I'm a vegan but got offered a job with a makeup company that tests on animals but I've been unemployed....
Oh, that is one tough decision you got there - your beliefs versus financial gain. Which one is more important to you? That's something that only you can answer.I'm a vegan but got offered a job with a makeup company that tests on animals but I've been unemployed....
this may sound wrong but you could just start working there to get some money and while you are working there just try and find another job. You will get experience with this job and it my be easier to find another one.

    hope that helps

did you apply for the job?if you did then you pretty much knew there and then what you were doing, signing up for a company that does animal testing.

but i don't think you should really leave it up to some random people to make life choices.. just weigh up the good and the bad and see how strongly you feel toward animal testing

    good luck with your decision
Rachel please do some research before you make ignorant statements. Animals are indeed tortured when tested on so you have absolutely no clue on what you claim is true. Back to the question, I think if you were to take the job you would be trading in your morals and beliefs for money which is pretty low in my opinion.
Stick with your morals and forget that job. You don't want to work for something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unhappy. Yes getting a job can be difficult but sticking by what you believe in is important to you and others. It's a life test so to speak - there will be other job opportunities.
the products are tested on animals so that they're SAFE for use on humans ... so people won't get hurt. that's an ok thing because it is the purpose of the animal to benefit people's lives. the animals aren't tortured, despite what you may have read.

get the job, and you may get a better understanding of this entire thing. it's ok to learn something and get paid at the same time.
Good lord, Im vegetarian and I dont use products tested on animals. I wouldnt take the job, my morals mean more to me than money. I dont think you should take it. Do you really want to sell your values and opinions for hourly pay? Is it really even an option? I dont think so, but whatever. You'll find another job opportunity, hang in there.
if your purely vegan, its important to stick to your beliefs financially or not. but, on the other hand, if your in debt or crucially need cash, i would take the job.. hope it helps :3
i think if you take the job you would be a total hypocrite. itd be a case of do as i say and not as i do. how about getting a job in land of leather or in a butchers.
i myself is against animal testing but i think you should go for it and in the mean time quickly find another job.
    vagina
    go 4 it
u should take the job till you find one you really like :p

Is ELF (makeup company) a drugstore brand?

I've heard ELF is a good makeup company, but other than that, I know nothing about it. Do they sell all kinds of makeup (blush, foundation, eyeshadow, etc.)? Are they a drugstore brand? Can I find ELF products at WalGreen's? How is ELF pronounced? Do you pronounce each letter E-L-F, or do you just say it like the Christmas elf? Does ELF sell brushes and stuff? Help? THANKSIs ELF (makeup company) a drugstore brand?
E.L.F. stands for Eyes, Lips, Face. Almost all of their products are $1.00 and i would consider it a drugstore brand. I believe you can find their products at Rite Aid and also at eyeslipsface.com . I like their products but some of them are not that great. For a review on some products please watch this video,

Hope this helped :)Is ELF (makeup company) a drugstore brand?
I actually work for E.L.F, so I'll be able to help. We sell all kinds of makeup except primers. Mostly everything on our website, http://www.eyeslipsface.com is just one dollar and is awesome quality. As you may know, E.L.F. stands for Eyes.Lips.Face and is not a drugstore brand. You can only buy ELF at the website above. ELF can be pronounced elf or E-L-F. ELF sells everything from brushes to train cases to minerals to makeup. Hope this helps! Check out our site!
honestly, i have a lip gloss that is ELF brand, and thats the only time i have ever seen that brand anywhere! i have no idea what other stuff they make besides lip gloss, and i think i got it at Nordstrom's Rack.... im as lost as you are!
Yes, these are comparable to low end drugstore brands. Look at the reviews on the products. Some are very good and some are not as good-
