Why don't makeup companies make products for women with dark skin?

Where can I find a brand that has dark shades of foundation? Everywhere I look the darkest color is barely even tan. :(Why don't makeup companies make products for women with dark skin?
It's all about supply and demand; there's a lot more fair to medium/tanned cosmetic consumers in comparison to dark cosmetic consumers, so companies make the mistake of overlooking the smaller group. It's also more expensive for them to produce makeup that won't be bought on the mass scales that fair-medium shades are. While some high end brands do not cater to the darker ladies, drugstore brands are the main culprits (though recently they have been catching on), and when they do offer a darker shade, more often than not, it's just the one, which is a crucial mistake made on the companies part, as they're making the assumption that their one dark shade will be a universal shade for all ladies of colour.





As for a brand that offers darker shades of foundation, I highly recommend MAC cosmetics. They have several *actual* dark shades available for both cool-toned and warm-toned skin.Why don't makeup companies make products for women with dark skin?
Hi, I'm white but me 3 daughters are 1/2 black and I was having that issue with mt teenager. Finally I found 2 different ones. Her Favorit one is called Milani in a gold compact case from cream to powder her color is sand. I also found before that one cover girl true blend #47 color toasted almond but that was too dark. I can't ever find the Cover girl Queen Latifa brand of cover up only the eye makeup (what good is that?) Anyway Good luck, you'll find something if you keep a positive attitude.
There are many beauty companies that have lines just for women with dark skin. Cover girl has a new line for those with darker skin and it contains tinted moisturizer, powder foundations and liquid foundations. Also, at target they have new makeup from makeup artists. These contain colors which are good for women with dark skin. Im sure if you go to sephora or any big beauty store like that, the sales person can help you find a line of makeup perfect for your skin. Hope this helped!
There are lots of lines for people with darker skin, but it may be that the stores in your area aren't carrying them. Find out where makeup artists in your area go and they will for sure have what are looking for.


If that doesn't work most cosmetic stores that professional makeup artists use will ship.

you may want to try MAC- they have a large variety of colors.
