Makeup artists or those with experience..can u work freelance for 2 separate companies not competing directly?

Will one makeup cosmetics company have a problem with you working freelance for another if they do not compete directly but both have some of the same general products such as lipstick, mascara, etc. Is it usually under contract that if you work for our cosmetics company that you cannot work for another? Thanks and please answer if you have worked for cosmetics compan(ies) before. ThanksMakeup artists or those with experience..can u work freelance for 2 separate companies not competing directly?
When I was worked I would work for several different companies at once. As long as there isn't a conflict in schedules, it was about sales volume and product knowledge. If you can/learn know the product quickly and sell you were in high demand. I never had a problem with working with several companies simultaneously. In fact it helped me to negotiate higher hourly rates.Makeup artists or those with experience..can u work freelance for 2 separate companies not competing directly?
I'm a makeup artist and asked one of our freelancers the same question. She is currently freelancing for about 3 different makeup companies so apparently it can be done. I think it depends on the individual companies and what their policies are. You should communicate with the companies you are interested in and ask them what their specific guidelines are.
you will have to ask those companies directly if it is a conflict of interest. It might be.
